The Rigid Borescopes are computer designed and manufactured to comply with up to date standards for a wide range of industrial applications. These rigid units provide a significantly higher resolution image then the flexible fiberscopes, or videoscopes, due to their direct glass lenses. Therefore, you need to carefully consider if you really need a flexible scope. Additional features compared to the flexible scopes include robust construction, lower purchase price and repair costs, and higher light emission.

The body of the scope, light post, and insertion tube, are manufactured from corrosive free stainless steel. All exterior elements are well adjusted and fluid resistant.
The coated rod lenses, in the optical system, provide brilliant image quality with great contrast and brightness. The construction of the optical system guarantees a distortion-free image of the inspection area.

Additional feature include fixed prism lenses built into the tips for borescopes with various DOV. Prism lenses allow alternate directions of view (DOV) including; 30°, 70°, 90° and 110°. Since the image and illumination are completely independent, the prism borescopes are particularly well suited for maximum image clarity and contrast in the inspection area. The prism scopes also give a true “exact” image compared to mirror tips with a “backwards” image. This makes them easier and more intuitive to control, and inspect damages. The specially designed prism lenses also minimize glare, making them a better choice for highly reflective surfaces.

Micro fibers densely packed into a light channel provide excellent light delivery to the inspection area.

ACMI, STORZ, OLYMPUS, and WOLF Light post connection allows easily coupling to most light sources available on the market (MEDIT recommends ideally using these units with the MS-24 metal halide or eXtreme LED light source).

To use these borescopes for documentation, we recommend a kit with the MEDIT ImagePRO HDTV, TV or USB cameras, and one of the brighter light sources. You’ll get high resolution image/video that is crystal clear to examine minute details.

I use the 2.7mm OD borescope for checking the inside of solitary bee nest tunnels, which sometimes requires a very small diameter. Other borescopes of similar size I looked at ran upwards of $2,000. If you are looking for a larger borescope, there are more economical options, but the 2.7mm OD scope is about the best value out there. Excellent quality too.

Word of warning if ordering from the US though, there might be extra shipping/tax charges upon receipt of the item.
