Questions and Answers

  • What pipe sizes can the MiniFlex inspect?
The MiniFlex 36 is designed for smaller pipes from 2 inches to 6 inches in diameter, making it ideal for residential plumbing, HVAC ducts, and electrical conduit. For smaller pipes, we recommend the MiniFlex 19 camera.
  • Can the MiniFlex work in 1½-inch old cast iron pipes?
This particular model, MiniFlex 36, can not. However, the MiniFlex with a smaller 19 mm (0.75 in) camera head fits inside 1½-inch (38 mm) cast-iron lines, including those with corrosion or channel rot. Performance in such conditions may reduce push distance, but the flexible cable and small head can navigate multiple bends. Check out our customers' reviews above to see where and how they have successfully used the camera.
  • Does the MiniFlex have a built-in transmitter sonde? Is it compatible with RIDGID locators?
The MiniFlex has a built-in 512 Hz sonde by default. This frequency is compatible with most standard pipe locators, including many RIDGID SeekTech models, as long as they support 512 Hz.
  • Do you offer a finance option?
Yes. Contact us, and our sales team will provide detailed information on financing your camera. The option is currently available only to USA customers. A third-party provider provides the financing.
  • Can I try before I buy?
We offer a special program that allows you to rent the MiniFlex and use it in real-world conditions. If you decide to purchase the MiniFlex after your rental, we will subtract the rental cost from the purchase price of the system.

Who Should Choose the MiniFlex 36?

The MiniFlex 36 is the ideal choice for professionals who regularly work with medium-sized drain pipes and need the clarity of a self-leveling camera. Consider the MiniFlex 36 if your work includes:

When to Choose MiniFlex 19 Instead

The MiniFlex 19 plumbing camera remains the best choice for:

  • Tight P-traps in 1.25" to 1.5" pipes (bathroom sinks, shower drains)
  • Old galvanized or cast iron pipes with heavy corrosion, where a smaller head is essential
  • Extremely tight 90-degree bends in small-diameter residential plumbing
  • In-ground pools and spa piping inspections

For most professionals, owning both the MiniFlex 19 and MiniFlex 36 reels provides complete coverage for residential and light commercial work, with the ability to swap between them using a single control unit.
