    The “Helios” Video Borescope is the only unit we offer with motorized tip articulation. The ergonomic hand piece offers variable speeds with the press of a button. The length of the rigid apical (front) end is 20mm (25mm for 6mm diameter probe) and the bending radius is 35mm, or 45mm.


    A 1/10” CMOS Video Camera chip in the 4mm diameter probes (1/8” for 6mm), is located directly in the tip of the probe with a focal range of 10 - 60mm (15 – 100mm for 6mm). Available in two working lengths (1.5 and 3m) the stainless steel braided insertion probe is water, oil, diesel, and gasoline resistant.


    Built in LED lights surround the tip, producing 65,000 Lux of light, to illuminate the inspection area.


    The integrated 4.3” TFT LCD low reflection monitor has a tough plastic exterior, a skid-proof, anti-shock design for full operation with gloves on, and buttons to control the intensity of the LED lights.


    Record high-quality images and video to the 8GB (supports up to 32G storage capacity) memory card with a single click or upload captured files to a PC through the USB port. A video output jack is included to export the live video image to a larger TV monitor.


    A rechargeable battery is used for all inspections in diverse areas.


    The unit is completely portable, and does not require separate cables, monitors, or DVRs.


    Working temperature range from -10 – +50 degrees C.

    I had borrowed scopes before! I use it to look into the cylinder bores on race engines to check for piston / bore damage, saves taking the engine a part to check. I also use it after draining the oil in race engines, to check for signs of premature wear of the crank. Also looking inside gear boxes and differentials. Really any mechanical part that is normally removed for visual checking, many can be visually checked with the scope.

We have a couple of high cost borescopes that breakdown frequently and are currently not working. We purchased the Medit borescope because we needed a borescope quickly and the cost was considerably less than the repairs of our other scopes. The Medit borescope because of its small size is more convenient to use than our expensive scopes and provides more than adequate video and still pictures.
